In my adaption, I chose an American psychological horror film Psycho produced by Alfred Hitchcock as my resource. In Psycho, Hitchcock presents a whole process of suspenseful homicide and finds out the final truth by employing different hypothesis and doubts. In order to let audience comprehend the detail of plots, he promotes to edit a deep fear of showing killer’s shadow behind the victims with extremely creepy sound effect in this film and produces unbelievable result for homicide. Plus, Hitchcock strongly emphasizes specific genres of violence, deviant behavior, and sexuality to the film, which definitely provides audience sense of terrify and doubts.
The film started in 1960, and the background of movie only has black and white. Marion ran away with her boyfriend Sam after stealing 400,000 dollars from her employer. She stayed for a night at the Bate Motel with proprietor Norman who had difficult relationship with his mom. Marion during the shower was killed by a shadowy figure. Marion’s sister Lila and private investigator Milton tried to find out who killed Marion. I believe that the best part of film is in the end due to the fact that the Lila found the final shocking result about who killed Marion. In fact, Norman’s mom had already died since several years ago, and he attempted to pretend his mom to kill many other people. Not only does this abundant and creative plot appeals to audience in impression, but the film also always hold into fear and doubts from beginning to end. I decide to write the Psycho sequel. In the current era, the justice system is not always fair, especially if the victims are minorities. The adaptation of Psycho below highlights an outcome which under normal circumstances would have led to a harsher sentence if the victims had not been minorities, especially for a repeat offender
